what's
the idea behind your dolls?
i really just tried to make paintings that i liked on them.
i tried at first to fit the way that i make paintings and draw
into the traditional aesthetic of the nesting dolls, but then
they just ended up resembling my paintings anyhow. i did a few
layers, a few different paintings on them. the result of covering
them up is a sort of history or timeline. The chemical makeups
of the ink and laytex paint let some of the old stuff show through.
kind of like thoughts or other glimpses of the characters.
